The European Parliament and Council Regulation on cross-border payments in euro, adopted in December 2001, became effective for cash machine and point-of-sale transactions from 1 July 2002 and for cross-border payments on 1 July 2003. APACS has published Compliance Guidelines on the impact of the Regulation on Cross-Border Payments in Euro for Cards and Credit Transfers in order to assist with the implementation of the Regulation.
